When we broke up the 'horse meeting,' I was guided to the barn where each horse was brought to me one at a time by his or her owner. It turned out that the horses that had surrounded me in the pasture were also the horses that were scheduled for a reading.

The rescue horses truly astounded me with the depth of their sorrow, their memories, and how those memories carried through, impacting their current behaviors. Suddenly, their owners understood where their horses annoying habits, stubborn tendencies and sometimes, intriguing behaviors came from. Some horses even told their human companions the things they did that made them feel bad or hurt them.

We saw an obvious understanding pass between owner and horse that resulted in a mutual agreement of sorts. It was evident that horses are great negotiators and they truly desire to be understood. Something absolutely magical happened that day and it was an enlightening event for us all."
